Just came home from the monster power-up known as GDC and am full of excitement for my work and that of my peers and mentors. Met so many great people that even the "I" in my I(E)NTP was coaxed into singing along with my "E." Fantastic and lucky to be there and in this industry!
Going to the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco this week! Gonna be a lot to take in. Hoping to meet up with people there and not have too many scheduling conflicts. Message me if you will be there and want to try to meet up!
Better than one of those "this is what my cat thinks I do, this is what my friends think I do, this is what I think I do" memes (although one of those would be great, too...) Such a joy it is, to be in this industry!
Details to follow, probably in several months, but a composition of mine won a competition and will be included in an international collection of piano variations on "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star." I am really excited and looking forward to the completed project! Mozart covered this territory with "Ah! Vous Dirais-je, Maman" and it's well worth a revisit.
It's always nice to go back to the UW and wander around like a dazed undergrad, without the dazedness. Today I even wandered into Brechemin Auditorium and audited a jazz history class, where I heard more about sweet, hot, big bands that got that swing.
I had a key to this back door while preparing for my junior recital. It looks much different in the dark!
The art building across the way looks much like the music building it's being viewed from.
En route to the music building from McMahon Hall, or 65th Street.
I have very good relative pitch, but it's not perfect. From what I understand about the torture perfect pitch can inflict on people who have it, this could be more a blessing than not.
