Details to follow, probably in several months, but a composition of mine won a competition and will be included in an international collection of piano variations on "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star." I am really excited and looking forward to the completed project! Mozart covered this territory with "Ah! Vous Dirais-je, Maman" and it's well worth a revisit.
It's always nice to go back to the UW and wander around like a dazed undergrad, without the dazedness. Today I even wandered into Brechemin Auditorium and audited a jazz history class, where I heard more about sweet, hot, big bands that got that swing.
I had a key to this back door while preparing for my junior recital. It looks much different in the dark!

I have very good relative pitch, but it's not perfect. From what I understand about the torture perfect pitch can inflict on people who have it, this could be more a blessing than not.
